LA POLITICA DE GÉNERO EN BELARÚS: HISTORIA Y ACTUALIDAD

Abstract

The article is aims to show the in Belarusian government policy on gender equality. It involves issues related to the formulation of national strategies in terms of gender policies, the historical experience of the country and its impact on the solution of issue currently. A special focus is made on four aspects: the definition and understanding of the concepts “sex” and “gender” in Belarusian society; the identification of the causes of the weak development of NGOs, which play an important role in the matter; the achievement of gender equality and, lastly, the causes of deficiencies in the formation of the country´s gender policy
